The Czech Republic sits in Central Europe. It is a parliamentary democracy with a strong economy and high living standards. The capital, Prague, is the fifth most visited city in Europe. The country is known for its many museums and puppet festivals, plus a fairy-tale skyline of Gothic towers, Baroque bridges, cobbled streets, and excellent beer.

🇨🇿 Trip Essentials:
Currency: the Czech koruna (CZK). Despite being a member of the European Union, the Czech Republic has not adopted the Euro yet.
Czech beer is famous. Czechs drink more beer per person than anyone. You can find beer nearly everywhere, even at breakfast cafés.
It’s tasty and cheap.Prague nightlife - The night starts at 7 pm and goes till at least 3 am.

DAY 1
Arriving by air: The airport is located 35-45 minutes from the city center (Old Town).
Getting to the Old Town hotels:
Private Pickup- we recommend Welcome Pickups. A private driver will meet you at the terminal exit with a welcome sign and monitor your flight for delays.
Uber -now has airport kiosks and is the official provider, so it's very easy to use. (Bolt is the other popular ride-sharing company)
Airport Shuttle Transfer- cheaper and will drop you at your hotel; however, longer travel time from extra stops.
Arriving at the Prague train station, Hlavní nádraží is the main train station. It is on the Prague Metro Line C <Network>
💼 If you have oversized luggage, take an Uber, Bolt, or taxi from the train station to your hotel for easier transport.
Starting from—Hlavní nádraží(Main Station):
It is a 5-minute walk from Wenceslas Square. The Square is a popular area due to the numerous bars, restaurants, and shops.
It is a 15-minute walk from Prague's historic Old Town. (best location to stay)
It is a 20-minute walk from the Charles Bridge.
The Hlavní nádraží station is generally safe, but late at night it can feel unpleasant because of the homeless population.

The Prague Metro consists of three (3) lines: Line A (Green Line), Line B (Yellow Line), and Line C (Red Line) <network>
Check into your hotel, then, if you have time, visit Old Town.
Overnight: Prague (Night 1 of 3)
Old Town (the city center) is the best location to stay in Prague, but it's also the busiest and most expensive.
👍 Staying in Old Town means you’re close to Prague’s top sights. Charming cobblestone streets, Gothic and Baroque buildings, and lively squares—history and culture are steps from your hotel.
Our second choice is Mala Strana — picturesque, with old townhouses, quaint streets, and traditional Czech pubs and restaurants.
Mala Strana is within reasonable walking distance from Old Town and Prague Castle.
Distance: Airport —> Old Town (city center) 30-40 minutes.
DAY 2 and 3
Two (2) days exploring Prague - Highlights.
Prague — One of Europe's most beautiful cities, with charming churches, palaces, towers, and bridges that form an unforgettable skyline full of history and architecture.
For an excellent overview of the city, join a Walking tour. Duration: 2hrs.
For quaint cobbled streets and traditional pubs, head to Old Town.
Visit Old Town Square. A pleasant, charming square surrounded by narrow, walkable streets is ideal for exploring.

From Old Town, it’s a 10-minute walk to the famous Charles Bridge for sweeping views of the Vltava River.
Charles Bridge is a famous old bridge in Prague that connects Old Town to Prague Castle. One of Europe’s oldest, it’s known for its medieval style. People walk the stone path and see street performers, artists, and vendors.
Climb the hill to the stunning Prague Castle for panoramic vistas. The castle served Bohemian kings and Holy Roman emperors and is now the Czech Republic president's official office.
The daily Changing of the Guard with fanfare takes place at 12:00 noon in the Castle courtyard.
Walking distance: From Old Town Square to the castle~35 minutes (2.7 km). From Charles Bridge to the castle,~18 minutes.
Cruise the Vltava River: Viewing Prague from the Vltava offers a fresh, unique perspective. River cruises are inexpensive and
often include lunch or dinner.Choose a cruise 🔗 lasting at least two hours, so you can leave Prague’s bustle and enjoy the quieter Vltava riverbanks.
Prague has excellent small bars to sample the famous Czech beer (Pilsner Urquell), charming cafes, restaurants, and shops.
It’s easy to explore on foot; however, there are many trams and taxis, and Uber is cheaper.Traditional Czech pubs close around 11 pm, while modern bars and clubs stay open until 1 or 2 am.
⚠️ In the Czech Republic, driving with any alcohol in your blood is illegal — the limit is 0% — and you'll face severe penalties.

If you’re in Prague during the 🎄 holiday season, the Prague Christmas markets are known for their festive atmosphere, local Christmas traditions, great shopping, and tasty food. It's one of Europe's best Christmas markets.

DAY 4
Embark on Cesky Krumlov, the top destination outside of Prague.
The picturesque setting of a horseshoe bend river with a huge 'Disney -style' castle is what Cesky Krumlov is famous for.
The town has remained unchanged since the 14th century because of its incredible preservation of ancient buildings.
Highlights:
Visit the Grounds of the State Castle and Chateau Ceský Krumlov.
The large castle towers over the river and is visible from anywhere in town. A platform reached by 162 steps offers wide views of the countryside and the orange rooftops of downtown Český Krumlov, which sits inside the river’s U-shaped bend.
Stroll the town square with all the shops and restaurants, and visit St. Vitus Church. The church dates back to the 13th century.
In warm weather, go river rafting to see the town from the river.

Overnight: Cesky Krumlov (1 night)
Distance: Prague —> Cesky Krumlov, 2 hrs. by car.
Trains available from Prague, duration: 3.5 hrs., but beware it’s a slow ride that leaves you at a station relatively far from the town center.
Another option is the RegioJet or FlixBus — about 3 hours. Pricier, and they stop at the "AN" bus station, much closer to the center
than the train station.
DAY 5
Continue exploring Cesky Krumlov in the morning, then travel back to Prague in the afternoon.

Overnight: Prague (1 night)
Distance: Cesky Krumlov —> Prague. 2 hours.
DAY 6
Depart Prague to return home or choose another European destination.
