DAYS 1-3
Albuquerque Balloon Festival - Daily Festival Highlights:
For early risers, check out the Dawn Patrol show. Every day at 6 a.m., big colorful weather balloons go up so pilots can check the weather. It’s now a yearly tradition that brings early-morning crowds.
The main event, Mass Ascension, begins daily at about 7:00 a.m., when every hot air balloon in the festival launches into the sky while “The Star Spangled Banner” sounds in the background.
After dusk, don’t miss the Balloon Glow. Pilots inflate tethered hot-air balloons on the ground and light the propane burners so they glow, often with fireworks and laser shows afterward.
The festival is located at Balloon Fiesta Park, 4401 Alameda Blvd NE, in the northern part of the city. <map>
