DAYS 1-3

  • Albuquerque Balloon Festival - Daily Festival Highlights:

    • For early risers, check out the Dawn Patrol show. Every day at 6 a.m., big colorful weather balloons go up so pilots can check the weather. It’s now a yearly tradition that brings early-morning crowds.

    • The main event, Mass Ascension, begins daily at about 7:00 a.m., when every hot air balloon in the festival launches into the sky while “The Star Spangled Banner” sounds in the background.

    • After dusk, don’t miss the Balloon Glow. Pilots inflate tethered hot-air balloons on the ground and light the propane burners so they glow, often with fireworks and laser shows afterward.

    • The festival is located at Balloon Fiesta Park, 4401 Alameda Blvd NE, in the northern part of the city. <map>

      • 🚌 Hassle-Free Transit: Park & Ride Locations

⚠️ Traffic around the park is notoriously gridlocked. We highly recommend utilizing
the official Fiesta Park-and-Ride remote lots, where express shuttle buses bypass the traffic lanes:

        1. Cottonwood Mall (Northeast lot near Seven Bar Loop & Coors Bypass NW)

        2. Coronado Center (Southwest corner near San Pedro Dr. & Uptown Blvd)

        3. Hoffmantown Church (Northeast parking lot only)

        4. Intel Corp (Weekends Only — Southeast lot at 1600 Rio Rancho Drive SE)
